Education

ASP regularly holds monthly seminars and workshops for professionals and families held at reasonable costs to the attendants. These seminars cover current and the latest approaches in dealing with ASD from the areas of occupational therapy, speech pathology, behavior modification to music and movement therapy.

Apart from our monthly seminars and workshops , the Society also provides the following services to the Philippine Autism community:

  * Sports and recreation programs for People with Disabilities

  * Siblings workshops/programs

If you wish to have an ASP seminar in your locality or school, call ASP or send us an email . We have a selection of seminars to suit your current needs.

ASP members are given special privileges, discounts and savings when attending seminars and workshops. Apply now for your ASP Membership.

Family Support Group

Once a month, ASP provides families of newly-diagnosed autists an opportunity to connect with other families who have had substantial experience in dealing with the disorder and in maintaining family harmony in spite of the challenges. Click here for a schedule.

Therafree

Through the support of professionals who cater services for persons with autism, ASP conducts free therapy for indigent families. This service may also be offered by the chapters.

Chapter Building

We now have 31 chapters, with more chapters aggresively pursuing their own programs and services-like seminars, support groups, and therafree.

Early Detection and Intervention Project (EDIP)

A simple yet concise program designed to teach and empower baranggay health workers and daycare center workers in dealing with their autistic wards. It has been able to reach over 2,000 rural and urban health workers and teachers for the past two years, thanks to the generous assistance of Autism Society Norway. The goal of the program is to reach as many provincial health care and day care centers where education on Autism is still found wanting.

If you wish to have an EDIP workshop in your locality, please send an email to: admin@autismsocietyph.org

ASP continues the  Early Detection and Early Intervetion Project for Barangay Health  and Day Care Center  Workers , even after funding by Autism Society Norway concluded in December 2006.  To date,  EDEIP has reached 17 cities around the country, with almost 3,000 trainees.

Public Orientation

ASP has a pool of resource speakers to orient groups from different organizations like SM, Red Cross, Academic Institutionss, and Local Government Units.

To date, more than 8,000 managers, tenants, frontliners (security guards and housekeeping staff) of SM Malls have been oriented on how to deal with their "special customers".

Library

ASP carries a host of resource materials to assist families and professionals in creating better programs for PWA’s. Books can be borrowed by current members while video resources can be viewed at the center during office-hours.

Referral Services

Referral services are provided for those who seek recommendations for professionals best suited for their circumstances. New Edition of "Directory of Resources for PWAs in the Philippines" is out.
