From left to right, standing:  Dang Koe, Grace Adviento, Tiffany Tan, Evelyn Go, Alfred Contreras, Ging Viado, Peng So, Jan Peña,Cris Munariz, Babsie Lu, and Carmel Almendrala
Inducting Officer: Cong. Irwin Tieng

 Erlinda Koe, President

Erlinda Koe, fondly known as Mama Dang, has been the indefatigable President of ASP for the past 2 terms. Her decade of service to ASP is decorated with numerous accomplishments, as she juggles her time between her family, HR and events management consultancy, and ASP. In spite of which, she can still keep it together with humor, fair judgment and that rare mix of leadership qualities needed to hold a non-profit organization. Her eldest son, Gio, is now 13 years old, and she extends her advocacy throughout her entire family, as her Papa Joe and sons, Hanzi and Chinoy, actively participate in ASP activities.

Grace Adviento, Vice-President

Only on her first term as member of the Board, yet Grace has made grand contributions to ASP. A physical therapist by training but a copy center entrepreneur by profession, this woman of many talents is an invaluable resource to ASP. Her down-to-earth and magnetic appeal makes her one of the best facilitators of ASP's Early Detection and Intervention Program.  Her only boy is 6-year-old Adrian.

Tiffany Tan, Secretary

ASP’s Treasurer is reserved in demeanor yet irreplaceable in ASP’s management. Tiffany, an entrepreneur and homemaker,  initiated SPARKS – a socialization immersion group for older children with ASD, like her 16 y.o. JR. She delivers talks on how others can initiate their own  SPARKS, and to engage other members of their household, as well as their community, that life can be fun with a child with ASD. She is the Board’s walking example that what we do is all about humble service.

Evelyn Go, Treasurer

Evelyn is deceptively low key yet her accomplishments as a mother and entrepreneur speak volumes. She has been an ASP member for the last 10 years and was recently elected unto the BOT in 2005. Her background in Nutrition did not deter her from heading 2 companies engaged in wholesale and retail of surplus auto and truck engines and replacement parts. In spite of her hectic schedule, she maintains an active membership at the Christian Bible Church of the Philippines, where she has volunteered as a Sunday school teacher for the past 3 years. Her 15 year-old ASD son, Gelo, has encouraged her to take up graduate courses in Special Education at UP Diliman.

Carmel Almendrala, Trustee

For as long as there is ASP, there will always be Tita Carmel. A former ambassador’s wife, she personifies diplomacy as you will always see or hear her representing ASP in media with poise, grace and intelligence in spite of the disconcerting circumstance of educating an ASD child. Her son, Michael is now 37 years old and his disability did not stop him from becoming a member of the Philippine Weightlifting Team and win medals for the country. He is also an independent member of the community working as an administrative staff of the Philippine Information Agency.

Alfred S. Contreras, Trustee

Alfred is an Industrial Engineer by training yet a property developer and manager by profession. His profession affords him time to oversee 4-year old.Gio's therapies and schedule. Seemingly quiet and gentle yet he is undaunted by a board of trustees outnumbered by outspoken women. He provides valuable inputs gathered from his years of working as a software engineer. His male voice puts balance in ASP's estrogen-filled boardroom.

Barbara Lu, Trustee

Babsie is better known as one of the co-founders of SPARKS. Always a silent figure in board meetings, yet highly dependable in getting the job done. Her first term as member started in 2005 yet she has already made waves since her membership in 1996. She maintains a managerial position at an envirnonmental management services company. Her son, Bryan, is now 16. Her involvement as Trustee has exposed her to many families of varying circumstances, deepening her resolve to empower more families stricken with ASD.

Perlita L. So, Trustee

Peng is another woman who wishes to be low-key yet when she speaks, her intelligence provides an ironic twist. Most people do not know that Peng has been an Honorary Trustee of Munting Tahanan ng Nazarette (MTN) in Mabalacat, Pampanga since 1995. MTN is a home for special children in Mabalacat, Pampanga. Her full-time job as a housewife keeps her on top of her boys’ IEPs and her family’s needs. Patrick is now turning 17 and is a celebrated math wizard. Her youngest, Angelo is only 10 years old yet already an aspiring performing artist. Peng is one ASD parent who has done her job in empowering her sons very very well.

Cristina E. Munarriz, Trustee

Cris bears no fear in wearing her heart on her sleeve. She holds a Herculean vision of a society more accepting and caring for her children, Henry and Derek, as well as others who are differently-abled.  Her background in Finance and IT challenges ASP to explore new avenues in maintaining its relevance in spite of challenging economic circumstances. She is a member of  the Council of Light while contributing on the Artistic Council of UP Manila Indayog. She is also an Usui Reiki Level 2 practitioner, taking part in healing missions for various children’s charities, namely PGH Cancer Ward and Bantay-Bata.

Mary Janette Peña-Trustee

Despite of being a  mom to 3 children and commitments to attend to , she pursued  at spearheading the establishment of ASP Bacoor Chapter. Her exemplary efforts gathered the 216 members  in Bacoor Chapter in two-year time. A superwoman indeed...With her wit and optimism, this woman can make a difference. Now, Mary Janette Peña,  handles the membership committee of ASP National.

Noemi "Ging" T. Viado, Trustee

Ms. Noemi Viado, a mother from Iloilo, was motivated to put up a school after her daughter’s diagnosis. Herself a special educator, she conducts lecture on autism to parents and professionals and counsels group of moms with special children enrolled in her school. Now as a board trustee, she hopes to extend the services of ASP in Biñan Laguna and nearby municipalities.
